Pilot Wire System
A programming cassette installed in one heater acts as the master control. Other heaters connected to the same circuit follow the master time programme. Individual temperature control of each heater is maintained. A Master Control transmits a control signal using 4th core pilot wire of the mains cable. This 230v live conductor carries a very low current to activate the setback mode on the heater electronic control. To connect heaters, all pilot wires on a circuit must be joined through the ring main, either using an additional live conductor or a suitable 4-core cable. Using hard wired signalling, no receiver is needed, offering a cost effective means of central control. The pilot wire system is ideal for new build applications.
